Dreaming Big of Coming Home

There was a time when I thought that I would never be able to build a career at home in Vernon. I hadn’t even dreamed of coming back here to pursue a job related to my studies at the University of Calgary. I didn’t know that there were opportunities.

Last year, my final blog entry was about opportunity. This remains true, but now I’ve taken that message a little closer to my heart. Now I’m dreaming even bigger for myself and my future.

For me, dreaming big means finding an employer that has real opportunities for me to challenge myself and grow my career in business. It’s about finding something that I can be proud of doing each day and enjoy it. It’s about being close to family and friends at home. It’s about purchasing my own house with a white picket fence, and commuting home in 10 minutes. I can dream like this when I’m in the greenest workforce at Tolko – and I am.

The Okanagan isn’t just a place for me – it’s a lifestyle. Tolko makes this possible for a future business graduate like me, and I can’t wait to see what my big dreams have in store for me at Tolko.
