last day at Weyerhaeuser

So my last day at Weyerhaeuser has come and gone. With it I’ve gained a newfound respect for the forest products industry and the amount of time and effort that goes not only into the manufacturing of the OSB, but also the time spent on ensuring safe work practices. I’d like to personally thank everyone I worked with and everyone who helped teach me along the way. It was an amazing working experience where I was able to learn so much and interact with a lot of friendly and hard working people. I’m going to give out some shouts to some people here, as they requested:

Travis Dennis: thanks for being an awesome supervisor with a friendly disposition (and Bonnie too, if you’re reading this).

Donnie Siki: thanks for helping out on the RBS line when we were short on people.

Jana Dyck: day shift am I right? Thanks for being the coolest day shift summer student to work with!

Robin Dolezsar: Thanks for taking me on a tour of the train, check out his band “Diehearted” @DIEHEARTEDOFFICIAL on instagram.

Jerry Kezema: Last but not least, have to shout out my dad. Thanks for being my dad harhar

And to everyone else I worked with at Weyerhaeuser thanks for making this such a fun, safe and enlightening experience from me. I learned a lot that I will take with me into my teaching career.

So my last few weeks were spent working the RBS line. We got a massive order, so we had a massive amount of RBS that needed to be finished. I worked the forklift and the strapper pretty hard for those two weeks.

We also got taken out to lunch on one of our last days. We went to the golf course restaurant. It’s a really delicious place to eat with lots of good choices. I had a clubhouse sandwich and poutine.

We also got shirts! Really cool Weyerhaeuser shirts that I will for sure be repping around Regina. I’ll include a picture of that below.

So one final thank you to Weyerhaeuser, I can not express my gratitude enough for the amazing summer full of learning and new experiences. I’d do it again in a heartbeat.

I’ll catch you here for one last blog about my return to school,

Peace out readers!

My own personal Weyerhaeuser shirt!

Had to stop and take a picture of the Weyerhaeuser sign on my way out on my last day.

Also thought I would show a picture of the massive spiders that are at our house. What the heck!!! Spooky!!!

Changing the foil roll for the last time!
