That’s a Wrap

First things first, I would like to acknowledge all the inspiring blog writing from this summer’s Green Dream interns.  With some down time every now and then, I love to check up on all your blogs and read what you’ve been up to this summer.  All of your posts about your exciting experiences this summer have inspired my own, and been an absolute pleasure to read.  Amazing work, guys, and congratulations on living the dream!

As a side note, it turns out that keeping patient, organized and dedicated has finally paid off, because after phase three of my enzyme trial, I reached some exciting results that proved that there is in fact strong potential for this enzyme to be utilized for our BEP, and I feel so great about that.  Although it finally happened in my last week here, it was a really great to be able to end my internship on a high note.

In my final weeks as an intern at Millar, I have tied together all my projects and finished all my reports in time, and I feel really good about what I’ve accomplished this summer.  I’ve come a long way on a personal level, but also a professional and educational level.  I’m really going to miss Whitecourt and everyone here that I’ve had the pleasure of working with.

When I first walked through Millar doors and began to learn about the system here and the work I would be doing, I was admittedly wildly overwhelmed, but equally as excited to learn.  The experience has been a major learning curve, and on top of learning everything I have about this field, the experience has helped me further shape my career path and solidify my ambitions and goals for the future.  The exposure that students can get by doing an internship like this one is so pivotal in deciding which way is best for you to go in the coming chapters of your life, and I’m so grateful for the opportunity that Millar Western, FPAC, and The Greenest Workforce has given to me.  Thank you.  It was incredible from start to finish.

Thank you for reading, and thank you for your support.  I have had the time of my life.
