The Summer has Come to an End

Hello fellow interns and readers. My summer has come to an end, and a good one it has been. I know I am down one blog, but the herbicide spray program took my time and focus, with long hours and tiring days. For the past two weeks, I was able to fly in a helicopter every day and get the experience of running a crew of people. It was difficult at times, when the weather went bad and you had to tell them they had to stop because that was how they made money, but they were all very good to me and understanding that we both had a job to do.  Over the summer I have learned a lot about myself and what I am made of, which is the reason why I have come so far for a job. This is some of what I have learned.

-Kelly Kenny (supervisor for the spray program) taught me that I have a voice, and she will be happy to know I use it more often.
– How to be a fair supervisor without jeopardizing the people I’m working with.
– How to be in charge but still approachable.
– My schooling has paid off.
-Never let your fear overcome what you are capable of.

I would like to thank Millar Western for the summer and giving me this awesome opportunity to be a part of the team, especially Brent (supervisor from plant) and Kelly. Everyone here is awesome and very helpful. Remember to always to take an opportunity and roll with it because you can learn more in real life than you can at school! I hope everyone has a good school year, and I hope my blogs have helped some people decide what is best for them. Best of luck to everyone.
