Top 10 Lakes in the 100 Mile House Area

Green Lake

This picturesque lake lives up to its name with beautiful blue-green water. It is located just east of 70 Mile House and features several public parks. It is a favorite for cabin goers and campers throughout the summer season. Lots of opportunity for boating, in particular water sports. Green Lake is not highly regarded as a fishing lake but The aspen forests and open meadows provide some of the most delightful walking trails around.

Blog 6 – Cariboo Chilcoltin Wildfire Update

This wildfire season has now been dubbed the worst in British Columbia’s history. The Cariboo region has been heavily hit and we are not out of the proverbial “woods” yet.

The Elephant Hill fire which began in Ashcroft and burnt through to Loon Lake and up onto the Cariboo Plateau near Green Lake and is now burning near Sheridan Lake,

Pendant l’été, l’une des tâches que nous avons eu à effectuer était de marcher dans les secteurs dont la coupe était prévue pour chercher des nids d’oiseaux migrateurs afin d’atténuer les prises accessoires potentielles de nids lors de la récolte. Il s’agissait de marcher dans chaque bloc à la recherche de nids dans des cavités ou de nids de branches.

This summer has taken an unusual turn with all of the forest fires in British Columbia. 100 Mile House was evacuated for a couple of weeks, and after everyone had secured their belongings and families, West Fraser was challenged to find everyone somewhere to work to keep us going during this time. People from our office in 100 Mile House who had somewhere to stay in areas nearby that were not evacuated were able to work at the Chasm office.
