Candidates have the option to either work out the Regional Office in Prince George or at the site office in Mackenzie, BC.
As an integral member of the Woodlands and Accounting & Finance teams, the Fibre Accountant will bring fibre accounting expertise, knowledge of woodlands operations and fibre inventory systems to co-ordinate the fibre management systems and perform fibre cost accounting for the two Northern BC locations of Conifex Timber Inc. (Mackenzie and Fort St. James) This position will be located in Mackenzie BC or Prince George BC and reports directly to the Fibre Controller while working collaboratively with other members of the Woodlands, Operational and Administrative teams at both locations.
•Monitoring of woodlands asset and liability accounts, including monthly account reconciliations.
•Tracking and reporting of fibre flows (logs and biomass) through the supply chain and inventory levels.
•Administration of fibre sales, both internal and external.
•Management of fibre costs versus plan including out-of-rate reporting.
•Management of all data in Log Inventory Management System (LIMS):◦Managing the accurate and timely processing of weigh scale and sample information for logs and biomass.
◦Overseeing Log and Biomass vendor contracts.
◦Managing Log and Biomass vendor payments.
•Review, approval and processing of Woodlands Accounts Payables covering Planning, Harvesting, Silviculture and Woodlands Administration.
•Review, approval and processing of Biomass Accounts Payables.
•Oversight of camp fobs, fuel & accommodation charges.
•Weekly, Monthly Reporting to internal and external parties.
•Support of the Fibre Controller and involvement in support of Woodlands budgets, fibre projects and other fibre objectives.
•Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
•Experience with forestry operational accounting and management of log scale data processing – direct and extensive experience with LIMS would be valuable.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially spreadsheet use & design.
•Experience with multiple computer systems, including Great Plains accounting software.
•Efficient time management skills, able to ensure completion within defined timelines and deal effectively with competing priorities.
•Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a highly interactive team environment as well as the ability to work independently.
•Valid Class 5 Drivers license and reliable vehicle for occasional travel to operations sites or regional office.
