Lab Technologist

Key responsibilities include:

As a Quesnel River Pulp Lab Technologist, you will be required
to conduct testing for process evaluation studies and to monitor
pulp quality. You will work closely with process engineers and
production operators to ensure that our final product meets the
customer’s quality requirements. You will be required to calibrate
and help maintain test equipment. The successful candidate will be
required, over time, to develop competencies that allow them to
provide coverage in other areas of the Technical Department
including chip testing and water treatment testing.

The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to safety, an
aptitude for precision, accuracy analyzing and reporting
results.  They will possess strong interpersonal and
communication skills including technical or procedural writing.

The successful candidate is required to work different shift
schedules as assigned including nights and weekends.

Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of a B.Sc. in Science at a recognized
    University, or
  • Successful completion of a two (2) year diploma in a Technology
    Program with major emphasis on chemical and/or instrumentation from
    a recognized Technical Institute
  • Proven experience with environmental or chemical laboratory
    work and lab instrumentation
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and organization
    skills
  • Class 5 Driver’s License
  • A comprehensive knowledge of computerized systems
  • The ability to analyze data using statistical methodology
  • A proactive, detailed oriented approach to work
