6 months term contract between April 1st to September 30th 2019
Reports To Director, Environment and Regulatory Affairs.
Support FPAC’s environment files by compiling, conducting analysis of, and reporting onenvironmental sustainability performance indicators (energy use, GHG emissions, waste,water, and water and air pollutants) from the pulp and paper and wood products sector.
Assist with the development of industry positions by providing analysis (tables andgraphs) and advice on trends in the pulp and paper and wood products sector.
Provide support to the Environment Committee through the review of regulatorydocuments and other requests.
Completed undergraduate degree in environmental science/engineering, chemicalengineering, or other related field;
Must comply with all Forest Products Association of Canada’s policies and procedures, as well as Federal mandated legislation and regulations;
Enthusiastic and a willingness to learn.
Knowledge of the Canadian forest products industry;
Understanding of basic engineering principles and environment challenges;
Familiarity with federal environmental initiatives (such as the Chemicals Management Plan and the National Pollutant Releases Inventory);
Fast learner who can work independently, and as a part of a team;
Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment;
Strong analytical skills and ability to think critically;
Strong communication skills – both verbal and writing;
Highly skilled in using Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
Ability to prepare reports, presentations and conduct various analyses in Excel;
Attention to detail.
