Our Parallam? manufacturing plant is located in the city
ofDelta, BC, located just 20 minutes south of the city of
Vancouver.  Thecity has all the features of a modern city –

waterfront parks on the Fraser River, Boundary Bay andStrait of

This position – a full-time hourly role – is part of
Weyerhaeuser’s(Engineered Wood Products) Annacis Island, BC plant?s
Maintenance team and willreport to the Mechanical Supervisor. Our
plant manufactures the high strengthengineered wood product
Parallam? and is a participative management teamconcept
operation. 

The successful candidate will immediately qualify for

Key Functions:

In this role, you will undertake work that ranges
fromtrouble-shooting to general preventative maintenance, including
generalequipment repairs as well as some project-related work.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience (and current certification) as
    BC Journeyman Millwright (or equivalent experience while possessing
    an interprovincial red seal).

  • 5+ years of experience in an industrial maintenance
    setting

  • 4th Class Power Engineering certification preferred, but not
    required. Willing to learn.

  • Demonstrated ability to follow safe work practices and
    procedures

  • Knowledge and experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, drive
    alignment and conveyance is a must

  • Experience with SAP Maintenance Management will be considered
    an asset

  • Experience with TIG welding will be considered an asset.

  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving and communication
    skills

  • Well-developed planning and organizational abilities

  • Willingness to work alternate shifts

  • Commitment to learning new systems and equipment
  • Natural self-starter

  • Ability and desire to see problems through to completion

About Weyerhaeuser

The
Greenside Manager is a full-time, exempt position reporting
directly to the Unit Manager and is responsible for leading
improvements in safety, reliability, value extraction and
production at our Drayton Valley Sawmill. As an active member of
the sawmill?s lead team, this individual provides oversight and
support to the Sawmill and Log Yard departments, which includes
maintaining a strong relationship with our Timberland?s group and
our Dryside team.

to:

  • Coordinate the departmental safety processes and education to
    ensure a safe work environment.

    quality, trim loss and reliability.
  • With an empowering and supportive management style, inspire the

  • Leadership responsibilities include hiring, planning,
    scheduling and general supervision of work, evaluating job
    performance, and providing regular feedback and coaching for
    development of team supervisors, as well as hourly production
    associates.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely production reporting.
  • Set strategic and capital direction, providing valuable
    contributions to the site?s Road Map
