The Opportunity:
Canfor is currently seeking Production Employees to join our Vanderhoof Sawmill team. We are looking for candidates who are interested in a growth opportunity in a production environment who will train in various areas of the mill site. This position involves manual labour and possible exposure to dusts and/or chemicals.

At the Canfor Sawmill in Vanderhoof, all entry-level employees start on our call-list. During this time, you must be available to work any shift on short notice. Call list employees are eligible to bid into production roles as seniority allows at each operation.

Hiring Pool Guidelines:
A Hiring Pool is a group of pre-qualified candidates who have been assessed and are ready to be reviewed by hiring managers. Once you’ve applied and after screening is completed, you will receive an email notification confirming whether or not your application was successfully screened in. You may be contacted to complete further assessments. Hiring pools are a tool to streamline the recruitment experience for both hiring managers and applicants. When a position becomes available, Canfor Human Resources will work with the hiring manager to match assessed and qualified candidates to the opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:
-The ability to work in a safe and efficient manner
-Ability to perform physical labour, including rapid repeitive type work
-Available to work day, afternoon & graveyard shifts in labor and production roles
-Completion of grade 12, a GED or a minimum of 5 years related work experience, or equivalent training (eg. OFA3, grading ticket, trade, etc.)
-Good interpersonal skills and communication
-Ability to analyze and troubleshoot
-Enthusiastic, positive attitude
-Knowledge of the lumber manufacturing process would be an asset

The Candidate:
-Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner
-Available to work shiftwork
-Strong interpersonal and communication skills
-Ability to analyze and troubleshoot
-Positive attitude and a self-starter
-Able to work in an environment that may include exposure to weather, dust, chemicals, moving mechanical parts, and noise.

Preference may be given to those with a Level 3 First Aid ticket.

In order to be eligible for this position, you must be legally entitled to work in Canada for our Company.
