Vaagen Fibre Canada

Vaagen Fibre Canada is a small dimension sawmill in the heart of the West Boundary Area, located in Midway, BC along the Kettle River and Canada – US Border. Our parent company, Vaagen Bros Lumber, is located in Colville, Washington and is a family owned sawmill in operation since the early 1950’s.

Midway has been the home for sawmills for decades, however, Vaagen Fibre Canada was established in 2011 as a result of the local community coming together to reinstate a sawmill in the town after the previous employer closed it’s doors in 2007.

Vaagen practices optimal resource management, with an aim at zero waste. At each Vaagen operation, quality lumber begins with quality trees. High-quality small trees yield good small logs, starting at 4.5 inches on the small end and 14 inches on the large end. Species range from Douglas Fir, Larch, Pine and Hem Fir.

Log supply comes from private, federal and tribal land.
