Millar Western is seeking a hands-on, proactive information technology (IT) professional with a proven commitment to service excellence to lead our IT team. Reporting to the Director of Finance and Administration, the successful candidate will ensure business continuity of our systems, and anticipate and meet the evolving IT needs of our business. He/she will actively work with the IT team to oversee the efficient operation of technical architecture, networks, servers, related hardware and software, system security, and virtual environments, as well as database management, and data and log analysis and reporting. The IT Manager will deliver IT services, including software upgrades, within budgetary and policy parameters and in compliance with relevant standards and legislation.
Qualified applicants will have a post-secondary degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent technical training or education. They will have a min. of 7 years of progressively responsible, directly related experience, including a min. of 5 years in a leadership role. In-depth knowledge of IT systems’ operations and related hardware and software, as well as networks, system security, telecommunications standards, and disaster recovery is essential, as is a proven background in successfully managing IT projects, including business software upgrades.
