We’re looking for a General Manager, Ontario to lead our production and woodlands teams in reaching their full potential.
Reporting to the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and controlling logging and sawmill operations for this area.

Establish the vision and direction for safety, environmental compliance, quality, production, costs, talent management, community profile aligned with our values.
Set and maintain our zero-incident expectation as EACOM’s safety standard ensuring proper accountabilities and implementing processes to eliminate unsafe work practices.
Focus and drive the management team to innovative solutions for productivity gains, waste reduction and optimization of overhead costs.
Actively pursue benchmarking to identify competitive position and drive continuous improvement to close gaps and set new performance standards.
Monitor operational performance against goals to ensure that progress is being made, and that corrective actions are being followed.
Meet regularly with internal leaders to foster a team spirit and facilitate resolution of issues/problems between business units.
Set and demonstrate a strong business ethic that supports our values in dealing with employees, suppliers, and customers.
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and the implementation of sustainable solutions to enhance the quality, productivity, and efficiency of operations.

Prepare, submit and manage operating budgets and capital expenses, as well as those related to the operation and transportation of the raw material, in order to achieve key performance indicators.

Seven to ten years of relevant experience in woodland industry and sawmill industry including human resources, budget, and project management in a unionized environment.

Proven experience in building and driving a safety culture.
Proven experience in change management and driving a high-performance culture.
Availability to travel on regular basis.
