We are seeking a full-time, permanent Woodlands Supervisor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervision of harvesting and hauling contractors in the supply of high quality, low cost logs to the MPR Mill.

Roles & Responsibilities
-Manage contractors in the area of logging and hauling of fibre.
-Act as the Company representative with regulatory agencies and industry stakeholders regarding designated operation.
-Implement the Annual Operating Plans (AOPs) and inspection of operations with regards to Operating Ground Rules,
Government regulations, Environmental Management System, Quality and Health & Safety programs.  
-Liaise with Government officials on approvals and updates.
-Track and adjust production and quality targets for the contractor.
-Develop budgetary and operational plans, while monitoring and being accountable for expenditures.
-Additional duties, as required.

Qualifications and Experience
-Successful completion of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
-Degree or Certificate in Forestry with a minimum of 2 years related experience.
-Member or eligible to become a member of the Alberta Association of Forest Management Professionals (AAFMP).
-Safety conscious individual who can demonstrate safe work practices with respect to people, equipment, and processes.
-Proficiency with GPS technology utilizing current version of ArcGIS including ArcMap and ArcPad.
-Leadership abilities, specifically contractor management.
-Strong knowledge in all facets of forest management including: operational planning, road & timber development, timber
harvesting & transportation and pre/post-harvest obligations.
-Knowledge in the Alberta forest industry safety standards, regulations and management systems.
-Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
-Self-motivated, detail-oriented and capable of making informed decisions in a team environment.
-Experience with Environmental Management Systems, quality and safety programs would be considered an asset.
-Must possess a valid Alberta Class 5 Operators license.
-Able to work independently in a physically demanding outdoor setting, in varied climates.
-Proficiency using a computer, including Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace Applications will be considered an asset.
