Job Description

We are seeking a full-time, permanent Planning Supervisor within the Woodlands Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing operational plans, supporting the team in the delivery of high quality, low cost logs to the MPR Mill.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Act as the Company representative with regulatory agencies and industry stakeholders 
- Development of the General Development Plan (GDP) and associated Annual Operating Plans (AOP).
- Management of layout staff and contractors 
- Work with Environmental Management System, Quality and Health & Safety programs
- Liaise with Government officials on various approvals 
- Development of annual budgets, including monitoring of annual expenditures
- Additional duties, as required

Qualifications and Experience
- Successful completion of a High School Diploma or equivalent
- Degree or Certificate in Forestry
- Member or eligible to become a member of the Alberta Association of Forest Management Professionals (AAFMP)
- Safety conscious individual who can demonstrate safe work practices with respect to people, equipment, and processes
- Proficiency with GPS technology utilizing current version of ArcGIS including ArcMap and ArcPad
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, independent, and capable of making informed decisions in a team environment
- Experience with Environmental Management Systems, quality and safety programs would be considered an asset
- Must possess a valid Alberta Class 5 Operators license
- Able to work in a physically demanding setting, required to work outdoors in varied climates
- Proficiency using a computer, including Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite of Applications will be considered an asset
