Company is currently recruiting for a Maintenance Manager for our
OSB facility located in Edson, AB.
The
Maintenance Manager is responsible for all maintenance salaried
supervisors, associates, and functions, including safety,
reliability, maximizing machine productivity and uptime, as well as
the condition and upkeep of the facility. This role will be
responsible for driving improvements and implementing changes to
ensure maintenance processes are optimized to the highest level and
solutions to issues are identified, cost effective, and
implemented.

Key
Functions:
Responsible
for the performance of maintenance team employees and the related
leadership positions and supervisors.
Develops
and manages of all maintenance activities, with safety of
associates being the highest priority.
Leads
preventive and predictive maintenance and process reliability
management.
Continuous
improvement of maintenance functions, and department budget cost
effectiveness.
Develops,
implements, and maintains maintenance team schedules and detailed
maintenance planning schedules.
Assures
purchasing functions follow established policies and
procedures.
Responsible
for the mill’s maintenance S&E, contractors, and labor
budgets.
Responsible
for cost control and benchmarking, planning, scheduling, and other
high-level managerial tasks.
Leads
team meetings and trainings, identifies safety, environmental,
quality & production issues.
Coordinates
with the operations team to maximize productivity, minimize cost,
and reduce waste.
Role models safety
standards and processes.
Requirements
Certified
trade or bachelor’s degree in an industry-related
field.
High
school diploma/GED is required.
Minimum
five (5) years of experience in a maintenance management level role
in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated
experience in safely leading manufacturing processes, predictive,
and preventative maintenance, productivity, and/or cost process
improvements.
Experience
with programmable logics control (PLC) and electrical/electronics.
Experience
managing in a unionized environment.
Experience
working with SAP or other CMMS systems, along with strong computer
skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and
Outlook.
Demonstrated
ability to develop, lead, and coach a team.
Excellent
communication (written, verbal, and listening)
skills.
Ability
and willingness to effectively facilitate and encourage change
management.
Strong
independent problem-solving and organization
skills.
Willingness
to travel occasionally to other mills to review opportunities to
exchange technology, innovations, and best practices.
Ability
to perform physical requirements of working in an industrial
environment, such as climbing stairs and working in extreme heat
and cold.
Willingness
to support a 24/7 operating environment, which may include weekend
and holiday support as conditions require.
