Weyerhaeuser’s (Engineered Lumber Products) Timberstrand®

Kenora, Ontario, is currently seeking permanent full-time
Maintenance and Engineering Superintendent. Our plant manufactures
the high strength engineered wood product Timberstrand® in a 24/7

Reporting to the Mill Manager, the Maintenance and Engineering
Superintendent will provide strategic direction and management of
all Maintenance at the Kenora Weyerhaeuser TimberStrand mill. As a
critical member of the senior leadership team, this position is
responsible for monitoring processes to attain maximum efficiency,
for ensuring cost effectiveness, and for achieving overall site
budget and safe production objectives as well as corporate
goals. 


Responsibilities


General Management


  • As a member of the Mill Management Team, participates in the
    leadership of the overall business of the mill.

Requirements


  • Preference will be given to the completion of a university degree
    preferably in mechanical or electrical engineering.

  • Related Trade Certificate

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in a maintenance management
    level role in an industrial or manufacturing
    environment.

  • Demonstrated experience in safely leading manufacturing processes,
    predictive, and preventative maintenance, productivity, and/or cost
    process improvements. 

  • Experience with programmable logics control (PLC) and
    electrical/electronics.  

  • Experience working with SAP or other CMMS systems, along with
    strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel,
    and Outlook.

  • Strong knowledge of engineering concepts and extensive experience
    with electrical, hydraulics and mechanical work

  • Demonstrated ability to develop, lead, and coach a
    team. 

  • Excellent communication (written, verbal, and listening)
    skills. 

  • Ability and willingness to effectively facilitate and encourage
    change management. 

  • Strong independent problem-solving and organization
    skills. 
  • There is a Leadership Development Professional (LDP)
    opportunity available at the Princeton, BC Lumber Division. This
    role will report to the Mill Manager.

    Working under the close
    guidance of assigned mentors, the incumbent will be accountable for
    learning the business, growing and  strengthening their people leadership abilities,
    technical skills, and general business understanding of the
    manufacturing processes and operations of a wood products lumber
    mill, as well as gaining exposure to major functional areas such as
    safety, HR, finance, timberlands, sales, raw materials, shipping,
    etc., throughout a comprehensive 12-month development period
    consisting of blended learning through hands-on, operational
    rotations, and process improvement projects.

    The successful individual
    will be assigned to their next role once development as an LDP has
    been successfully completed and a suitable next assignment is
    available. This development opportunity is best suited to
    candidates looking to make a commitment to Weyerhaeuser in
    Princeton.
