First things first, I would like to acknowledge all the inspiring blog writing from this summer’s Green Dream interns. With some down time every now and then, I love to check up on all your blogs and read what you’ve been up to this summer. All of your posts about your exciting experiences this summer have inspired my own, and been an absolute pleasure to read.

While working on my projects this summer, one of the strongest takeaway lessons I’ve learned is the reality of trial and error in the real world. As a student, we learn by generating results from controlled tests, usually designed by TAs: all variables are in place, controls accounted for and results already predicted. As I return from a long weekend vacation to Vancouver and Whistler, it has hit me like a ton of bricks that I’ve only got four weeks left here at Millar Western. Not only do I have lots of work to wrap up, but I still have lots of weekend activities planned to do before I go. There is no doubt this is going to be a busy month!

This past week, my roommate and fellow Green Dream Intern, Emma, and I were featured in the Whitecourt Star in an interview regarding our internships at Millar Western and how we’ve enjoyed living in Whitecourt. This opportunity was a lot of fun. It’s great to feel so included and welcomed in this town’s inviting community.
