I have been telling you in my last couple blogs about the planters and planting but I haven’t told you how the trees are planted or even what they look like. Here are a few tips I have learned over the summer from checking trees.

My job entails going out to the cut-blocks that the tree planters have planted or are planting to ensure that there are no holes (a place that didn’t get planted because it got missed),

Summer Planting

Finally summer is here! I don’t know about you guys but I for one am so happy that the sun has been shining as much as it has. The pretty flowers have now started to bloom and everything is so green! The weather has been so beautiful the last couple weeks, which makes it so much enjoyable to be working outside.

When people hear the term tree planters one could assume that they are dirty, smelly, hippies but honestly they are the hardest workers I know. (Well they may be a little dirty) In my own opinion tree planters are Olympians; actually, they may even be better. Sure Olympians are hard-core athletes and can run longer and faster than any average Joe,

A day in the life…

Hi, my name is Taylor Tonsi and I am going in to my second year of school to become a Forest Technologist at Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT). I am a small town girl who was born and raised in Slave Lake, AB, so lucky for me I grew up surrounded by the forest community. This created a very amazing opportunity for me this summer as I was employed at Alberta Plywood in Slave Lake.
