seeking individuals enrolled in Post Secondary.
SUMMER STUDENTS
2024
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
To be considered for summer employment, students must:
Apply each year on the appropriate form before the application
deadline.
Be at least 18 years of age in the year of the term of
employment.
Hold a valid driver’s license.
Be available to work the beginning of May 2024 to the end of
August 2024.
Have a Grade 12 diploma or equivalency and be enrolled in a two
(2) or more year program leading to a degree or diploma at a
recognized post-secondary institution.
Have completed a minimum of one (1) full-time academic term
immediately preceding summer employment.
Submit full transcripts for all semesters that you have
attended post-secondary school, along with a listing of your
registered courses for the January to April 2024 term, with your
application prior to January 20, 2024. If a
student’s transcript indicates they have failed a semester, it may
affect summer employment.
Demonstrate enrollment for the 2024/2025 fall/winter semesters
at a recognized post-secondary institution in a degree or diploma
program.
If you are a NEW summer student, provide two
complete letters of references either from school instructors or
previous employers.
Short listed candidates will be asked to complete medical and
drug/alcohol screening.
Notes:
Only one (1) family member will be employed in any one
summer.
A MAXIMUM of four summer terms will be
available to each student, however no subsequent terms are
guaranteed.
Applicants must commit to working the entire
summer (beginning of May 2024 – end of August 2024).
As per Hinton Pulp’s amended Safety Eye Glass policy,
prescription safety glasses will not be provided
or covered by the Company.
Proper hearing protection will be provided at no cost to the
student, but molded ear plugs will not be provided
by the Company.
2. SELECTION PROCEDURE
Once selection decisions are made, offers of employment will be
sent to the successful candidates.

A resume – including education and work experience
A full transcript for all semesters that have been attended at
post-secondary and upcoming enrolled/registered courses
If you are a NEW summer student – two letters of references from either school
instructors or previous employers.
