Our OSB Mill in Edson has an opening
for a Team Lead with strong technical and leadership
capabilities.

The Team Lead will be reporting
directly to the Operations Manager and will be responsible for
leading a shift of hourly associates in achieving safety, quality,
and production goals.  

We are seeking individuals who
are committed to safety, have a positive attitude, and have
excellent work ethic. 

This position is 12-hour shifts,
4 days on/4 days off, rotating from days to nights.

   

Key
Functions:

The
Production Supervisor is expected to be a role model in our safety
standards and on-the-job behavior by living our core principles of
integrity, fairness, creating a positive work environment, and
ensuring open communication among associates. Accountabilities
include ensuring compliance with all applicable Weyerhaeuser,
federal, provincial, and local laws and regulations. Following are
the key functions for this role:

  • Supervise
    and develop employees reporting to this position.
  • Responsible
    for safe, efficient operation of crew and all production facilities
    while on shift.
  • Ensuring
    proper job and safety procedures are followed.
  • Participate
    in team meetings and safety training
  • Identify
    and address process improvements, quality and production
    issues
  • Hold
    oneself and others accountable for behaviours and
    performance
  • Ensure
    adherence to all applicable site policies and procedures in a fair
    and consistent manner.
  • Proactively
    resolving employee issues and improve team work
  • Coordinates
    operations activities with maintenance team, to proactively address
    all equipment concerns.
  • Perform
    administrative duties such as preparing appropriate reports for
    shift operation and verify payroll time sheets.

Requirements

  • Minimum
    3 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing
    environment.
  • A
    University degree or College diploma with relevant/similar
    experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Ability
    to lead the implementation of Safety improvement.
  • Knowledge
    of industrial safety procedures and regulations.
  • Demonstrated
    strong leadership skills and experience successfully leading a team
    to achieve excellent results.
  • Ability
    to generate commitment and motivate employees toward a common
    goal.
  • Strong
    communication skills.
  • Ability
    to lead problem solving and analyze results to ensure objectives
    are met in a group/team environment.
  • Good
    planning and organizing skills and ability.
  • Thorough
    understanding of labour and or employee relations.
  • strong
    computer skills.


Compensation
:
This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we
are targeting a salary range of $88,500 – $128,500 based on your
level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be
eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash
bonus targeting 7% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range
from zero to two times that target.
