Weyerhaeuser
Company Limited is seeking full-time temporary Summer Students at
our Drayton Valley, AB Sawmill. We are seeking individuals who are
committed to safety, have a positive attitude and good work ethic.
These positions will run from April to the end of August,
working Monday to Friday day shift. Successful candidate must be
able to work for the entire period.
Key
Functions:
Total
commitment to working safely, following all safety rules and
company policies and procedures
General
duties will include performing clean-up and general
labour
Responsible
for safely completing general tasks required inside and outside the
mill
Work
effectively in a team environment
Requirements
- Candidates
must be 18 years of age or older and have successfully completed a
minimum of one (1) year post-secondary education.
- Successful
candidate must be enrolled full time in a post-secondary education
program from September 2024 – April 2025. Evidence of educational
requirements must be provided.
- Eligible
to work in the Canada without sponsorship.
- Willingness
to wear all required personal protective equipment.
- Ability
to perform essential job functions of the position, which may
include climbing stairs, navigating catwalks, lifting 50lbs,
bending and performing repetitive movement tasks.
- Good
communication skills
- Successful
completion of pre-employment testing process
- Able to
perform basic math and use computers.
- Industrial
or Manufacturing experience is a plus.
- Experience
in self-directed team environment is a plus.
- Cover
letter detailing interest in Weyerhaeuser and commitment to safety,
along with a resume are required.
