INDUSTRIAL MECHANIC
(MILLWRIGHT)

2nd/ 3rd LEVEL
APPRENTICE

Reporting to our Sawmill Maintenance Superintendent, you will
install, repair and maintain manufacturing equipment, machinery and
electrical systems. This includes troubleshooting and preventative
maintenance. Additional cross-trades certification is an asset as
well as willingness to broaden your exposure to a complete variety
of mechanical work as required.

Key responsibilities:

  • Maintenance of pumps, conveyors, compressors, mechanical
    systems, rollers & chains, bearings and hydraulics involved in
    the manufacturing process
  • Read blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to repair
    equipment
  • Operate hoist and lift devices to position machinery and parts
    during the assembly, installation, set-up and repair of equipment
    and machinery
  • Repair and assemble hydraulic equipment and cylinders
  • Verify and document completed repairs
  • Work in a safe manner using proper PPE

 The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Industrial Mechanic/ Millwright Certification – 2nd
    or 3rd Level Apprentice
  • Mechanical aptitude; excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work closely with other trades and employees
  • Commitment to working safely and creating a safe work
    place
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexible schedule in order to work days, nights and/or weekend
    shifts
  • Experience in the Forestry Industry is an asset
