opportunity for a:
Planning Forester-12-month term
Reporting to the Planning Superintendent, the Planning Forester
will work with a team of professionals responsible for all timber
development activities. Our Planning Foresters enjoy a
balanced mix of field and office work, with exposure to all aspects
of our diversified and integrated business.
Core Duties include:
- Completing all necessary field work including cut block and
road layout - Harvesting and road plan design
- Government and First Nations liaison
- Contract administration and supervision
- Incorporating wildlife and other environmental values into
harvest area designs - Consulting stakeholders
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Possesses a Registered Professional Forester (RPF) or
Registered Professional Forester Tech (RPFT) designation for
Alberta (or be eligible and willing to earn this designation). - Have excellent communication and interpersonal
skills. - Willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Be highly motivated, with proven
organizational skills. - Experience in harvest area design and layout
