Weyerhaeuser’s (Engineered Wood Products)
Parallam®
manufacturing Plant, located on Annacis
Island (Delta), British Columbia
, is currently seeking
Production Associates. Our plant manufactures the
high strength engineered wood product Parallam® and is a
participative management team concept operation.  We believe
that the key to our success lies within our associates, and we
value the diversity of people and ideas.  
 
Successful candidates will be provided with all the required
training to perform their role safely and efficiently and will
initially provide support across a multi-shift/24-hour hour
production environment. The standard production shift length is 12
hours, with a mixture of dayshifts and nightshifts (including
weekends) required. The new hires will work full-time hours,
averaging 40 hours/week, and will be performing in a variety of
capacities to produce quality products for our customers.
  

Starting rate: $
$29.41
/hr
with
potential for progression to $41.43/hr in the
future.

    Plan: It is an annual cash bonus plan for eligible Canadian hourly
    associates. Awards are based on site performance against
    predetermined annual goals.

Key Functions:

  • Responsible for the daily operation
    of manufacturing equipment that produces engineered wood
    products.
  • Perform regular Preventive
    Maintenance and clean-up on equipment.
  • Total commitment to working safely
    and following all safety rules and regulations.
  • Problem solve and troubleshoot
    equipment and issues on a regular basis.
  • Involvement in ongoing process
    improvement in the work area.
  • Operate forklifts and other mobile
    equipment to manage product flow.
  • Perform quality checks and ensure
    production of a quality product.
  • Complete shift paperwork and
    recordkeeping.
  • Attending team meetings and regular
    training sessions.

Requirements


Requirements:

  • High
    School graduation certificate or GED
  • Committed
    to follow safe work policies, practices and procedures.
  • Ability
    to work rotating shift schedules (12-hour shifts/night
    shifts/weekends)
  • Strong
    trouble shooting, problem solving and communication
    skills
  • Ability
    to work within a team setting.
  • Demonstrate
    willingness and ability to learn new jobs & skills.
  • Ability
    to perform the job essential functions of the position, which
    includes climbing stairs, navigating catwalks, lifting up to 50
    pounds, stooping, and bending.
  • At
    least 1 year experience working in
    industrial/manufacturing/construction environments
    preferred.
