The
Princeton Lumber Division is seeking Summer Students for
entry-level mill production laborer roles (General Laborers) for
summer 2025 from April/May until September 2025. We want
individuals who are committed to safety, have an interest in
working in a manufacturing facility, and maintain a positive
attitude with a high-level work ethic.
The
starting pay for this position is $34.025 per
hour.
Position Duties:
- Entry-level labor duties will vary to include
(but not limited to) equipment operation, manual handling of lumber
and debris, shoveling and sweeping wood materials, spark watch,
etc. - Every employee is required to report safety
issues, concerns or hazards. - Provide occasional relief coverage for regular
operators. - May
be on-call and some night shifts may be required. - Perform other duties as
assigned.
Requirements
- All
applicants must have a Grade 12 diploma or equivalent - Must
be attending or enrolled to attend a post-secondary institution and
at least 18 years old - Ability and willingness to work as a manual
laborer in a high-paced production environment while following all
safe work practices and procedures and wear all required
PPE - Ability to perform the essential job functions
of the position, which includes climbing stairs, navigating
catwalks, lifting up to 50 pounds, stooping, and
bending. - Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving and
communication skills - Well-developed planning and organization
abilities - A
willingness to work alternate shifts and varying hours - Must
bring a commitment to safety, a positive attitude, and a desire to
perform physical work - Must
be team-oriented - Able
to work independently as required.
