Alberta Pacific Forest Industries Inc. (Al-Pac) is seeking a Specialist, Computer Aided Design (CAD)
to work out of our mill site in Athabasca. The successful candidate will be responsible for the administration of 3D modelling, scanning, and drafting used by Al-Pac engineers and consultants for projects.

Role Responsibilities
• 3D Process Plant Modelling – Manage and organize Al-Pac’s Plant 3D system. Create and maintain templates, catalogues, specifications, and act as a resource for other users.
• 3D Scanning – Coordinate scanning projects for maintenance and project activities. Manage the cloud scan database (user access, project creation and organization, uploading and downloading scans and data).
• Engineering Design and Drafting – Create 3D models and 2D drawings both collaboratively and independently.
• Drafting Procedures and Training – Create, maintain, and guide procedures/training as related to drafting activities.
• Document Control – Coordinate with others to ensure the proper document control of drawings and other engineering records produced.
Role Requirements
• 4+ years’ experience in a Design or Drafting role.
• Considered an asset:
o A Diploma or Degree in an Engineering Technology program related to Design/Drafting.
o AutoCAD Plant 3D experience.
o Registration with ASET.
o Knowledge of other AutoCAD programs are an asset (Inventor etc.).
o Knowledge of 3D scanning and cloud storage (CINTOO).
o Knowledge in piping design and B31/ABSA codes.
o Manufacturing, Industrial Plant experience.
• Strong comprehension of engineering, project documentation and records management.
• Ability to prioritize, work independently, manage time well, multitask and troubleshoot.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and customer service skills.
• Adaptable to change and ability to work effectively under pressure with changing timelines.
• Accuracy in processing.
