Weyerhaeuser’s (Engineered Lumber
Products) Timberstrand® manufacturing Plant, located on beautiful
Lake of the Woods in Kenora, Ontario, is currently seeking a
permanent full-time Red Seal Certified Welder. Our plant
manufactures the high strength engineered wood product
Timberstrand® in a 24/7 operations, non-union, manufacturing

We
offer a competitive total compensation and flexible benefits
package. With a competitive starting wage at
$48.12. For the right candidate we offer a
relocation allowance and a hiring bonus of
$3000.00.
Reporting to the Mechanical Supervisor this
position will be responsible for:
- Welding: Perform MIG, TIG, and Stick welding on
various materials including steel, aluminum, and stainless
steel. - Fitting: Read and interpret blueprints,
drawings, and specifications to determine the exact dimensions and
configuration of parts and structures. - Fabrication: Cut, shape, and assemble metal
components using hand tools, power tools, and
machinery. - Quality Control: Inspect completed welds and
fabrications for quality and accuracy, ensuring they meet the
required standards. - Safety: Adhere to all safety protocols and
guidelines, maintaining a clean and organized work
area. - Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on
welding equipment and tools. Execute Other maintenance tasks as
assigned with other lead trades(MWT) - Collaboration: Work closely with other team
members to meet project deadlines and production goals.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience
as a Welder/Fitter/Fabricator. - Certification: Valid Red Seal welding
certification (CWB certification is preferred). High School diploma
or equivalent is required. - Technical Skills: Proficient in MIG, TIG, and
Stick welding techniques. Strong understanding of metal fabrication
processes. - Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and interpret
technical drawings and blueprints. - Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy
and quality in all work performed. - Safety Conscious: Knowledge of and commitment to
workplace safety standards. - Ability to perform the essential job functions
of the position, which includes climbing stairs, navigating
catwalks, lifting up to 50 pounds, stooping, and
bending. - Ability to work in extreme heat and
cold.
