A Fiery Situation

Hello again folks,

The summer heat is making it far too hot to survive in the mill today, so I figured it is the perfect day to touch base with the Bloggers out there. A lot has happened since the last time I wrote, including a shutdown and a visit from a company with an interesting method of displaying their products.

First off for those who don’t know, a shutdown at a mill is when the machinery is stopped to give an opportunity for repairs. Obviously nothing is produced during this time, so minimizing the duration of a shutdown is important. This shutdown was relatively short, lasting only a couple of days.

One of the major jobs that had to be done was pressure cleaning the inside of some equipment.  The picture below shows what the entrance to the mill looked like on the morning of the first shutdown, crowded with wash trucks:

After the shutdown was complete, we received a visit from a company that deals with heat exchangers, pumps and valves. Although none of those things are overly interesting on their own, the way in which they presented them was intriguing.  As shown below, they arrived in a truck that had a trailer designed as a showroom:

Probably one of the most surprising things JUST happened as I am writing this; the local fire department is on fire! The coworker stationed next to me just told me that the City Hall and the Fire Department were just set on fire by somebody. This news is crazy to hear, because Nackawic is an incredibly quiet and peaceful place.

(Sorry for the poor quality)

Well folks, that is all for today, I will touch base again in the next few days regarding a chemical trial that I’ve been involved with, and any developing stories regarding the razing of the town buildings. Pretty interesting stuff.

Thanks for reading!
