I only had one last week at DMI before field school and writing this blog. In that last week I got to participate in reinforcing a road with geotextile, go for an operations tour, receive additional watercourse crossing and road inspection training, an insightful conversation with our land management superintendent about the opportunity forestry brings, and had a chance to explore with the 3D mapping station solo.

As I prepare for another year of university I am going to miss so many things; the people, the scenery, the wildlife, the wildflowers, the fresh air, etc. It is already a readjustment to settling back in to city life. I am very grateful for all the hands on experiences I received that will help me understand my studies in ways. Even just going on the field school tours, I realized how much knowledge I had gained and allowed me to dig for deeper questions about processes or see things with more open eyes.

Thank you DMI and The Greenest Work Force for sharing your summer with me in this amazing industry.
