Job Description

Our Ear Falls Sawmill is looking to hire a Shipping Coordinator, for our sawmill located in Ear Falls, Ontario.

Reporting to the General Manager, the Shipping Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating incoming shipments of raw materials and shipping of the finished product in collaboration with the central planning and sales departments. You will be responsible for forecasting and managing the inventory in the yard.


Prepare accurate product forecasting of outgoing lumber.
Communication of shipments/orders to specific sales representatives as needed.
Work with other departments to identify and resolve discrepancies.
Proper inventory rotation. Check inventory in yard and make necessary adjustments with Operations to ensure prompt deliveries according to customer deadlines and specifications.
Ensure equipment operator loads the correct inventory and advise equipment operator and Yard Supervisor of special requirements.
Daily inventory of sawmill produced finished products.
Organize and manage monthly lumber inventory.
Provide data entry in SAP production for inventory management and shipping.
Enter production information into the dashboard.
Manage the department within legislative compliance and company safety policy.
Conduct safety orientation for new contractors (outgoing inventory).
Coordinate the shipment of orders by truck or rail ensuring accuracy and quality of orders and ensure deadlines are met.
Verification of loads shipped to meet customers’ needs.
Maintenance of all shipping documentation (i.e. bill of lading, order confirmation, truck loading worksheet and customs documents).
Maintain a tracking system for environmental and Insurance audits as required. Follow up with stakeholders in compliance to inspections results.
Maintain a tracking system for Woodlands safety orientation and insurance.
Communicate weather station fire code with Woodlands contractors.
Other duties as assigned.

3 to 5 years’ experience in a similar job.
Experience related to the logistics field would be a strong asset.
