As my summer work with Tolko begins to wind down, so too does my blogging internship with FPAC. Fall is in the air and I am getting ready to head back to the University of Regina in September. Thankfully, fall is my favourite time of year because it means hunting season has arrived. For my final blog post, I’d like to reflect on the summer’s highlights and the things I learned on the job this field season.

For this blog post, I am going to talk about the specific reasons why I enjoy working in the Tolko Woodlands division of the forest industry.
Most woodlands divisions are similar with one goal in mind. It is their responsibility to manage the forest and to supply the mills with enough wood to keep them running efficiently.

For this blog post, I’d like to talk about the common misconceptions of forestry. Some of the things I mention will likely apply to forest sectors all over Canada, but I am going to speak specifically about forestry in my home province of Saskatchewan.

I would like to firstly re-affirm my gratitude to the Forest Products Association of Canada for providing me with the opportunity to be a 2020 Green Dream Blogger. It is an amazing opportunity that I am eager to take full advantage of.

My name is Jordan Rock and I have been hired as a Woodlands Student by Tolko Industries for the summer of 2020. I am a recent graduate of Saskatchewan Polytechnic’s Integrated Resource Management program and I plan to continue working towards a degree in Environmental Biology at the University of Regina in the fall. During the summer of 2019,
